What Happens After You Get in Touch
When your message comes in, it goes to Alec. He reads what you wrote about your project and gets back to you by phone or text to talk it through. That first conversation is about what you want to change, which rooms are involved, roughly when you are hoping to start, and anything you already know you want, like a cabinet color or a tile you saw somewhere.
If the project sounds like a fit, the next step is a visit to your home. Alec looks at the room, measures it, and asks how you use the space day to day. He also looks for anything that could affect the plan, such as signs of old water damage, a wall that may hide plumbing, or a floor that is not level. Then he talks through layout, cabinets and finishes with you before anything is ordered.
After the visit, you get a free written estimate that lists what is included, along with a schedule based on your actual project. The estimate is yours to think over. If you go ahead, Alec runs the project himself from start to finish, and he stays your one point of contact the whole way through.
What Helps When You Reach Out
You do not need a finished plan to get in touch. A rough idea is plenty. But a few details help Alec understand your project faster:
- Which room or rooms. A full kitchen, just the cabinets, a backsplash, a bathroom, a basement or a laundry room.
- What bothers you about it now. Not enough storage, a layout that does not work, worn-out surfaces, or a room you cannot use at all.
- What you want to keep. Some people keep the layout and change the look. Others want to start over.
- Your timing. Whether you want to start soon or are just getting ideas for later.
- Photos, if you have them. A few phone pictures of the room help Alec see what he is walking into.

Questions Before You Call
Who will I talk to when I call?
Alec. He runs every Salt and Cedar project himself, from the first visit to the final walkthrough, so the person you talk to on the phone is the person who plans and runs your remodel.
What areas do you serve?
Salt and Cedar is based in Nashville and works across greater Nashville, including Brentwood, Franklin, Hendersonville, Mt. Juliet, Nolensville, Hermitage and Bellevue. One phone line covers all of them.
What kinds of projects do you take on?
Kitchens are the core of the work: full remodels, cabinets, countertops as part of a kitchen, backsplash and flooring. We also do bathroom remodeling, basement finishing and laundry room remodeling.
Can you give me a price over the phone?
No. Every room is different, so Alec visits, looks at the space and talks through layout, cabinets and finishes with you first. Then you get a written quote that lists what is included, along with a schedule.
Do I need a finished plan before I reach out?
No. A rough idea is plenty. It helps to know which room, what bothers you about it now, what you want to keep and your timing. A few phone photos of the room are useful too.
Can I text instead of calling?
Yes. You can call or text the same number, or send your project details through the form on this page. Alec will get back to you to talk it through.
